What is fine washed river sand?
Fine washed river sand is sourced locally from Carbrook. It is dredged from the river, screened and washed several times.
What are it’s uses?
Fine washed river sand can be used for many and varied tasks including: bedding pavers, rendering, sweeping between the pavers once they have been laid and also for childrens sand pits.
How do I calculate how much I need?
Measure the area you need to fill with sand. Say for example, you are going to fill your childs sand pit and the area is 2m long by 1.5m wide by 200mm deep. The calculation would be:
Formula: Length (m) x Width (m) x Depth (m) = m3
2 x 1.5 x 0.200 = 0.6
That means that you require 2/3m3 of fine washed river sand to fill the sand pit.
